Known for their blend of alt-rock and Americana with a psychedelic edge, the four-piece are turning their focus to one of the most pressing issues of the day \u2013 austerity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded at Aberdeen\u2019s York Street Studio with long-time producer and engineer Steve Curtis, \u201cAusterity Kills\u201d combines socially charged lyrics with jangly guitars, a tense rhythm section and lead-singer, Colin Clyne\u2019s distinctive vocal delivery. At its core is a chant-ready refrain; \u201cThey\u2019re killing lives, Jesus Christ, don\u2019t they know that austerity kills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Broken Creels feature Colin Clyne (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Daz Alexander (drums), Brian Black (bass) and Tom Ward (guitar\/keys). They formed on Scotland\u2019s North-East coast in 2022 bring together decades of live and studio experience to create an unforgettable sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their first two singles made an immediate impact. \u201cFriend or Foe\u201d reached No. 1 in the UK iTunes Rock Chart in April 2023, followed by \u201cKilling on the Rail Line\u201d, which peak at No. 2 six months later.
