Stonehaven Radio Station P&J piece

Tuesday, June 30th, 2020

The Press and Journal’s Scott Begbie has done a historical piece on Stonehaven’s old Ship to Shore Radio Station from it’s role in World War 2 and the Piper Alpha tragedy. He spoke with some of the folk that used to work there as a working ship to shore radio station, including my Uncle Gordon Reid and Ally Taylor.

He also talks about it’s future as a brewery for Six Degrees North Brewery in Stonehaven.

I was interviewed for my input on my 2010 song ‘Stonehaven Radio Station and Me’ and touched on my upcoming (comeback) single ‘Where The Ships Go To Die’.

Please give it a read. It’s a wonderful piece.

Thanks

Colin Clyne lyrics in new CG Buswell Book!

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Scottish author CG Buswell references my music and lyrics in his most recent book ‘The Drummer Boy’. CG’s books usually revolve around Scottish Army Battlion the ‘Gordon Highlanders’, which in itself it ironic as my Father was indeed a member many moons ago.

In the authors own words:

‘…Colin Clyne is the singer whose lyrics feature in The Drummer Boy novel and I think they seamlessly slotted into the sadness, anger and then elated moods Scott was feeling…’

This wonderful novel can be purchased here:

Mackie of Scotland, singing to cows & Doricana Fest 2016

Wednesday, September 21st, 2016

We are delighted to announce that Doricana Fest are partnering with Mackies of Scotland for our first festival. It’s an honour to share the stage with one of Scotland’s finest family businesses.

Also, there’s been a lot of press and publicity regarding our little cow experiment up at Mackies too. I’ve been up to visit the dairy cows to perform a few acoustic songs for them. Also, they’ve been listening to my two albums on a non stop loop for a few weeks. The milk yield during this period of time will be noted and we shall find out if ‘Country Music’ (Doricana) improves milk yield in dairy cows…….watch this space!

As for tickets to Doricana:

And as for the video on the cows experiment:

Thanks for all the support

Big Country gigs in Belfast & Dublin

Friday, February 5th, 2016

Unfortunately, the Big Country gigs in Dublin & Belfast (I was due to open) have been pulled due to ill health with the promoter (and friend Charlie Campbell).

My Irish tour will remain and we’ll be working very hard towards finding replacement shows in both Cities.

Sorry for the last minute issues but I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing Charlie the best in his recovery.

Thanks
Colin
