Fresh from my recent trip to The Belladrum festival where I had a lovely weekend and a successful gig on the Free Range Acoustic Stage, I’m back on duty for The Broken Creels again during August.
First up, we head to The Twa Tams in Perth on the 12th August, we kick off at 7pm.
On the 25th of August we support Scottish Americana stalwarts The Wynntown Marshalls at Aberdeen venue The Blue Lamp, it promises to be a great evening.
The Broken Creels will be supporting Aberdeen’s legendary guitarist Gerry Jablonski and his Electric Band on Saturday night (Saturday 3rd June 2023) at Aberdeen’s Cafe Drummond’s. The band have had a run of shows there now and are starting to slowly build some momentum and interest in what we are all about.
Hope to see you there, tickets can be bought below..
It was a funny one as it consisted of songs from two separate sessions.
Three of the songs came from a session in 2008 that was going to be an album called ‘Torn Between Two Everyrhings’, overall we did 8 or 9 full band songs and decided to keep ‘Good for something’, ‘Into my Garden’ and ‘Peace in my mind’.
However, i put them on the back burner to go out and play live as much as i could as I wasn’t vocally ready or good enough to sing those songs at that point.
The other session was held in Signature sound studios (San Diego) sometime in January 2010. Myself, James Hood & Enrique Platas went in with Alan Sanderson to record 10 songs, completely live and acoustic, just like we had been playing the pubs and clubs of Southern California at the time!
The album was mixed in two sessions, one at The Way studio in London (August 2009) and the other at Hyde Street studios in San Francisco (February 2010) It was mastered at Universal studios some time in March or April 2010 and released 10th May 2010.
It was such a great learning curve and wonderful experience…thanks to all that were involved in it!
I’m delighted to announce my one and only solo show for the year in my hometown of Aberdeen Scotland at historic venue The Blue Lamp on the 10th of November 2023. The ‘Lampie’ truly is one of my favorite venues in Scotland and it’s always a wonderfully intimate and special night there.
Thanks to The Press and Journal’s Scott Begbie for the excellent write up on my new single ‘Wishing Winter Away’, especially highlighting the wonderful involvement of Paul Anderson Scottish Fiddler on the project.
The article also highlights Aprils London (with Talentbanq) & Stonehaven (URBAN Project ZEE’S Stonehaven) gigs.
The new official video for my latest single Within Hindsight is available to view in the link below.
Directed, shot and edited by Aberdeen based filmmaker Barry Thackrey, the video stars Scottish Film and TV veteran Alec Westwood (Roughnecks, Schemers, Taggart etc), upcoming actress Shanna Logan and of course yours truly.
Massive thanks to everyone that was involved in all aspects of this project. Truly appreciated.

We are really aiming to get as high in the UK iTunes singer songwriter single charts as possible with this song and hopefully any success in that will contribute further to some quality PR for the single.
I’m very proud of all the work we did on this production! I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you to Edgar Allan Poets for their kind review on my new single:
“Clyne’s music immediately reminds you of Bob Dylan, fantastic lyrics and folk sounds. The Production is of the highest level and you feel like listening to the artist live, near a fire at sunset. The melodies and the amalgam of sounds make you immediately dream of the Scottish Highlands where William Wallace once fought and lived. I got thirsty listening to Clyne’s music, beer and especially whisky are the best company while listening to these wonderful songs. His kind of music varies between alternative, folk, country and rock and each song can surprise you by adding a new element. We are talking about a musician of the highest level, you can tell by the quality of the chords progression and the sound quality of his albums. Fantastic discovery that we must suggest to all of you!”
My new single ‘Where The Ships Go To Die’ is finally ready to have a vintage bottle of champagne cracked off her bows and sent off to sail far as long as the wind may carry her.
Its been a long road but I’m delighted to announce ‘Where The Ships Go To Die’ is available from Royale Music via INgrooves (Parent Co, Universal Music) on Friday the 28th August….more news soon.
