The Broken Creels – New Single – Moon Howler

Tuesday, June 16th, 2026

Aberdeenshire alt-rock outfit The Broken Creels have returned with their new single “Moon Howler” – a dark psychedelic anthem shaped by online rage and the strange times we’re living through.

Recorded at Aberdeen’s York Street Studio with producer and engineer Steve Curtis, “Moon Howler” mixes riff-heavy guitars, swampy grooves and explosive psychedelic energy to create a hypnotic howl that according to front man, Colin Clyne comes from the very edges of modern life.

“From world leaders to online influencers and everyday folk buying into increasingly polarised narratives, social media seems to be creating Moon Howlers everywhere,” says Colin Clyne. “Everyone’s got a platform, everyone’s got a voice and everyone seems to have lost the ability to use their eyes and ears.”

The Broken Creels’ debut single “Friend or Foe” reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Rock Chart in April 2023 and was followed by “Killing on the Rail Line”, which peaked at No.2 later that year. The band have since built themselves a big reputation for their powerful live performances, playing everywhere from the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival to the Stonehaven Midsummer Beer Festival.

“There are no gimmicks, no trickery or technological skulduggery,” added Colin. “Just a band in a room making a noise.”
